Welcome to my blog. Thank you for taking the time to be here. This is a space where I showcase my creative endeavours. All work is my own (unless otherwise stated). Every post here is a story, and no story sits by itself. They are all connected, like threads on a loom, to a vaster story.
The story is called Muchness
and it’s about living poetically.
In Lewis Caroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, when Alice revisits Wonderland for the second time, the Mad Hatter tells her:
“You’re not the same as you were before. You were much more…muchier…you’ve lost your muchness.”
Alice has grown up and in doing so, has lost a little bit of herself. The Mad Hatter mournfully observes this loss of what he defines as “muchness”. Alice is still Alice, but the thing that made her truly and completely Alice – her sense of wonder and childish abandon – has gone. Removed from her true essence, she is less herself.
I believe we are on this earth to find and live our full self in all its muchness. A unique muchness belongs to every one of us – it’s something we’re born with. But, alas, as the Mad Hatter directly observes, it can be lost or undiscovered in the first place. Having said that, it can also be unearthed or reclaimed. I believe there are certain keys sewn into each of us that can unlock our muchness. I believe poetry is one of my keys. So, I maintain this blog for a very simple reason: to infuse some more poetry into my days.
Thank you for still being here. I hope you find some enjoyment, some inspiration and, above all, some reverie.
